In the fall of 1983, my husband and I won a free Windjammer Barefoot Bahamas Cruise. We had a great time that week. This was the start of our love affair with cruising.

A few years passed before we went on another cruise aboard a 37,000 ton ship. Since then we've been on 13 cruise lines and over 50 cruises.

For us, cruising meant that our meals, entertainment, and room were already planned. We only had to unpack once, not in each city. We got to explore new destinations. Best of all, our cost was fixed. Now, we were definitely hooked.

With over 30 years in the travel industry, I have become addicted to travel and cruising. There is no other vacation like a cruise. I still fondly remember our first cruise as if it happened yesterday. It is the best way to see the world especially destinations like Europe. I am constantly expanding my cruise line and destination knowledge by participating in travel seminars, conferences, classes, and of course by taking several cruises each year. Most recently, I attended CLIA's Cruise3Sixty Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. where I recertifed as a Master Cruise Counselor. I was awarded the 2007 Business Person of the Year by the Streamwood Chamber of Commerce where I'm Past President and Member of the Board of Directors, and active member of several committees.
